Program areas at Youth with A Mission Mendocino Coast
Each year we run 5 schools or training courses, each of them areregistered as a course or seminar with the University of the Nations. TheDiscipleship Training School (DTS) is the entry level course forparticipation in Youth With A Mission (YWAM) world wide. The DTS is a 5-month course which includes a 3-month on-site lecture phase and a 2-month missions practicum, usually in a foreign country. The purpose ofDTS is to produce personal transformation that prepares young people foreffective Christian service, with an emphasis on cross-cultural missions.Last January (2023) the DTS staff and students served in Azerbaijan andIsrael.Also offered each autumn is our Spirit and Truth Bible Seminar (STBS), a6 week emersion in Scripture. STBS is a secondary (post DTS) course.Each Spring (from the end of March to the end of May), we offer theSchool of Supernatural Missions (SSM). SSM focusses on knowing andexperiencing the Holy Spirit, and growing in the operation of thesupernatural spiritual gifts listed in Scripture, with an emphasis in their usein front-line missions work. Following the SSM, students and staff travelabroad to offer the IGNITE seminara condensed 3-week version of theSSM. In June (2023) we offered this seminar in Battambang, Cambodia.Each summer our campus offers the 3-week BONFIRE missions intensivefor high school students, including a 2 week on-site course and a 1-weekservice practicum. Last July (2023) they traveled to Vicente Guerrero,Mexico to assist a local ministry in building a simple home.
