Yuma County Historical Society

Yumas history involves agriculture from indigenous people to the highly technical, science based life of todays farmer. So much of Yuma countys economy is based on agriculture made possible by the Colorado river. Showcasing the history and educating our school children, the public both local and visitors and telling the story that created this magnificient ability to produce winter vegetables and other crops throughout the year to our nation and beyond. The Yuma County Historical Society has a goal to build an open air ag museum and fundraising is in progress, as well as funding the design to build firm. Interview with firms having taken place and we are currently in conversations with our state partners, Arizona Historical Society, to determine final budgets and firm.

Redondo day fundraiser to financially assist Historical Society museums, raise awareness of Yuma history and preserve artifacts for display and story telling to the public through history talks and tours.
