In 2023, the organization made two donations of 500.00 each to individuals that assisted with their expenses while undergoing breast cancer treatment. Through its scholarship initiatives, ymf inc. Awarded two scholarship recipients with 2,000 each to help pursue degrees in nursing at howard university. In addition, we are prod to announce that we have elected on new member to our board of directors, debbie denise douglas. In october 2024, will will host our inaugural beyound the ribbon meet - up for breast cancer surviors that were diagnosed under the age of 50 within the last 5 years. The purpose of the event is to provide a safe space for survivors to share, support and provide resources to help clutivate a smoother process for breast cancer treatment and recover. We will also participate in the american cancer society making strides against breast cancer walk in newark, new jersey. The organization's short term goal is to continue to empower and promote breast cancer awareness, by encouraging and outlining the importance of getting mammograms and self breast examinations. Ymf inc. also provides resources to educate women on ways to advocate for themselves and the steps to take when someone is diagnosed with breast cancer. Ymf inc. will continue to work and partner with community leaders, government and private sectors to help raise breast cancer awareness.
