Adult education and literacy communication skills are taught in english to 327 immigrant and refugee adults to help them function as productive community members in The united states. The curriculum integrates conversational skills, basic computer skills, civic participation and job readiness skills. Early childhood, school-readiness activities, academic enrichment, and community service opportunities are offered for children of The adults enrolled.
Elgin partnership for early learning - to collaborate with partners to ensure that children are supported in becoming ready for kindergarten. The three strategic priorities for Illinois are as follows: 1) align and coordinate early learning systems, 2) connect The most at-risk children with services, 3) improve program quality.
Youth services: The school age child care (sacc) program provides safe nurturing high quality after school care to 50 children including care after morning kindergarten. Sacc services children k-6, providing a daily support system and early foundation with positive role models. The take 2 creative camp: a digital literacy program is about teaching children (ages 12-15) how to use today's technology in order to explore their own creativity and be confident in voicing their own opinions on multiple platforms. They work with computers, cameras, tablets, and other platforms in order to create videos about themselves and The Elgin community. The students embark on different field trips and film their adventures. They learn how to work with their peers as well as how to work as individuals.
Health & wellness education - educational programs provided to meet The needs of The community. A gymnasium is used for health, wellness, and fitness classes and recreational activities for all programs. The gymnasium is available for rental to The public.women's leadership - Women's leadership programs encompass a wide range of education and empowerment activities that help support and develop women as leaders in our community.
