Program areas at YWCA Black Hawk County
The Ywca's child care programs, y's kids before and after school child care and summer daze, full day summer child care, offer families a safe, caring environment for their children while parents are at work, attending school, etc. Children receive homework assistance, character counts programming, wellness programming, and exposure to new concepts. Financial assistance is provided to income eligible families based on household income and size.
The Ywca's youth & family services include: gender-specific, culture- specific, character development and prevention programs for elementary, middle and high school aged females; case management, information and referral, translation/interpretation, and english language instruction services for latino families; and parent education and support for young parents.
The Ywca's health & wellness services uses a full range of resources to empower, educate, and provide opportunities to children, youth,adults and seniors to support healthy lifestyle choices; improving their health, wellness and quality of life. Financial assistance is provided to income eligible families based on household income and size.
