Program areas at Ywca Tulsa
Health equity & wellness programs: Ywca Tulsa's health and wellness programs served 3,816 people in 2022. Women, men, children, and seniors participated in fitness activities at two fitness centers including: group fitness classes for all levels, strength training, water aerobics, and swimming lessons. To address health disparities in our community we provided 384 discounted memberships to individuals experiencing financial hardship. We provided 408 individuals with red cross certified life guard training, water safety and cpr training. We provided free basic water safety and swim lessons to 211 children.
Immigrant and refugee services: Ywca Tulsa served 4,199 newcomers to Tulsa in 2022. Our adult education classses served 452 adult english language learners and 43 youth, case management provided employment services and support to 236 immigrants and refugees, and translation and interpretation responded to 1021 requests. Ywca legal services team opened 728 cases with 263 receiving their requested benefit. Ywca also provided referral services by phone to over 500 callers seeking information on legal services, social services, and english classes.
