Drivers are required to wear a fire retardant one piece driving suit, gloves, socks and shoes along with an approved snell sa rated helmet. There is no prize money and the emphasis is on having fun in a competitive event. To ensure a "proper attitude" among competitors, a "13/13" rule applies that puts a driver out of that event and on probation for 13 months should they be involved in an incident that involves car damages (even if it's limited to their own car). Cars are classed based on weight and horsepower. the event is staffed by Zone region volunteer members that provide registration, tech inspections, staging, scoring. the track facility and its professional flagging staff are rented by the Zone. the Zone 1 Club race is a 3 day event and one of over 25 such racing events throughout the usa and canada. the event draws approximately 200 participants each year.
