Careline Crisis service operates the only statewide suicide and Crisis contact center in Alaska. In fy23 the Careline Crisis Services organization operated one program which provides statewide suicide prevention and Crisis intervention Services via telephone or text message. In fy23, Careline facilitated 27,155 contacts, offering life-saving interventions and enhancing connectedness for vulnerable alaskans. Other noteworthy activities in fy23 included obtaining national accreditation with the american assocation of suicidology, supporting the launch of the national three-digit dialing number for mental health crises (9-8-8), responding to calls dialed to 9-8-8 from persons with a 907 area code, developing partnerships between the call center and four 9-1-1 call centers from around the state, and enhancing collaboration between the call center and tribal mental health providers.
