System reform initiatives:funding from the mccormick foundation was used to hire a permanent full-time youth-focused project manager to implement the youth strategic plan. The position was funded for the first year and independently sustained in the following years. The inaugural year of funding consisted of convening stakeholders in the youth Workforce development system including participation on the Workforce investment board's youth council, alignment of youth services and preparing youth programs for the transition to wioa rules.
Workforce demonstration pilots:citi job club initiative: funded by citi at $201,224 since 2013, the city job club initiative connects residents to job search asssistance and peer support through community-based job clubs. In the most recent year of the project, 159 individuals learned about careers and sought employment opportunities through job club.
