Substance abuse prevention (sap): this program helps prevent drug abuse using research-based model programs, positive youth development, and family strengthening. Our efforts are focused primarily toward youth and those who play a key role in their lives. Focus reaches several thousand young people each year and serves as a resource center for parents, schools, and other agencies.
Uwrc fast: the united way of racine county fast (families and schools together) program is an innovative and collaborative prevention and parent-involvement program in which families gather at their respective schools for eight weekly, evening sessions to participate in specific, fun, research-based activities aimed at strengthening families and empowering agents. The sessions are about two hours long, and include a meal for the families.
