Habitat for Humanity - Habitat for Humanity of McHenry Cou (HFHMC)

The organization constructs affordable housing around the Mchenry county area in Illinois. The homes are sold to qualified families at cost. The organization sold six completed homes to qualified families during the year ended december 31, 2021.

As part of the organization's mission, two resale establishments called restores have been established in the community. The inventories are donated by manufacturers, distributors, builders, homeowners, and retailers. The organization sells new and gently used home improvement goods, furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. The proceeds are used by the organization to help build the homes and expand other areas of service to the community.

Critical home repairs are offered to low-income families in Mchenry county who are struggling to maintain their houses. It focuses on exterior home repair, yard cleanup, minor exterior repairs and consists of 10-20 volunteers who work alongside the homeowner to revitalize a home's exterior.
