Milwaukee Parks Foundation raised significant awareness about the opportunities and challenges facing Milwaukee county Parks. Awareness was raised through traditional media, social media, email and mailed storytelling.during the summer of 2022, Milwaukee Parks Foundation connected green spaces to the community, shared stories of how community members activate Parks, and raised money to be invested in safety, capital projects, and youth enrichment throughout the Parks system. Milwaukee Parks Foundation invests equitably, prioritizing Parks located in neighborhoods that have seen disinvestment. Milwaukee Parks Foundation hosted go green for Parks event with over 250 individuals celebrating the Parks together!milwaukee Parks Foundation supports community-led park projects connecting to the themes of healing, community care and collective joy, while creating systemic changes focused on investing in capital projects, youth enrichment, and environmental sustainability and justice. 2022 initiatives including supporting the july 4th fireworks and funding to update basketball courts, bleachers, and community center projects.
