Civil and political rights advocacy - the organization works to defend and advance the rights of immigrants who have faced violations of their civil rights. the organization works both independently and collaboratively with Immigration advocacy organizations throughout the united states to educate and strengthen the capacity of community-based organizations and Immigration professionals, while promoting public policy change through direct advocacy and litigation.
Criminal and deportation defense - the organization trains and assists Immigration attorneys and public defenders to assess and understand the Immigration consequences their clients face. the organization also provides technical assistance to advocates, community organizations, families, and Immigration professionals on deportation defense and custody issues. the organization creates and distributes resources analyzing issues at the intersection of the criminal and Immigration systems. the organization also provides direct representation and support to people facing deportation because of contact with the criminal legal system.
