Low income home energy assistance program - liheapthe low-income home energy assistance program (liheap) provides assistance to households who are financially challenged by the high cost of winter heating bills and summer cooling bills. Eligible families receive a one-time payment that is applied to their heating or cooling bill. Partnership for Community Action, Inc. has one of the largest and most productive programs in the state of Georgia.
Community services block grant - family supportthe agency offers a coordination of services to help low-income families achieve sustainability. The family support program provides emergency services to address crises, but works closely with families to identify barriers to self-sufficiency and economic stability. While the program offers a number of direct services in the domains of employment, education, and housing, the primary goal is to assist with the achievement of self-sufficiency through the provision of case management and resource coordination.community services block grant - youth empowerment services y.e.s.youth empowerment services targets high school students in disparaged communities to promote growth and encourage independence as emerging adults. Pca provides leadership training through university of Georgia's j.w. Fanning institute, funds extra curricular activities, sports, clubs, tutoring, college application fees, uniforms for required activities, and other fees associated with school success. Pca also provides classes of budgeting, credit counseling, tax knowledge, and saving/investing in their futures. Students successfully completing financial literacy are provided funds and an interest-bearing savings account. At the end of each program, participants are given the opportunity to win scholarships via essay submission that is chosen by pca's executive staff. All activities through yes are offered only through the sponsoring high school.
The low income home water assistance program (lihwap) provides assistance to low-income households experiencing high water burdens. Eligible households received a one-time payment that was applied directly to their water bill.
