Program areas at RFF
Rockefeller Family Fund programsrff works in three main program areas: environment, democracy, and economic justice for women. In each of these areas, rff develops and manages initiatives in conjunction with funder partners, individuals, and existing non-profit organizations, to advance critical policy objectives or build necessary capacity.environment: rff focuses its environment program almost exclusively on climate change. Our program emphasizes public education on the risks of global warming and implementation of sound solutions to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy. Rff develops initiatives to disrupt the life cycle of fossil fuels from extraction to transportation to exporting; make responsible climate polluters pay for the damage they have caused; promote aggressive policies at the state and national levels to reduce carbon emissions; bring diverse new voices into the climate debate; and examine how special interests are distorting science and delaying constructive steps to deal with this impending global crisis.democracy: rff's democracy program works to build and sustain a true multiracial democracy in the united states for the first time in the nation's history. Rff's focus is on supporting communities of color and other underrepresented populations in their work to increase civic engagement and to act collectively to build and wield the policy, social, and governmental power necessary to win change that improves the quality of life for families and their communities.economic justice for women: rff works to promote economic equity for women by making a family-friendly economic agenda a priority for state and federal officials. Rff does this by supporting a diverse coalition of women to win policy victories, build women's power, and reframe our national narrative around the link between economic and social progress and equity for women. Emerging opportunities - this program encourages creative advocacy in issue areas outside of rff's current areas of focus, but still within rff's established program areas and supplements the respective annual budget allocations for rff's other program area in order to seize emerging opportunities.
Other charitable grantmakingrff also conducts additional charitable grantmaking to promote a sustainable, just, free, and participatory society.
