Program areas at Eastern States Veterinary Association

NAVC's program activities consist primarily of educational activities which provide training opportunities to develop the knowledge and capabilities of individuals involved in the veterinary healthcare community. The educational opportunities provided by NAVC train participants in the most up-to-date treatment and care methodologies, which allow these participants to provide a higher quality of care for animals. The Organization presents an annual educational conference, Veterinary Meeting & Expo (VMX), to veterinary professionals and others which offers advanced learning opportunities, innovations, and meaningful connections to participants. The 2022 VMX had over 15,000 attendees for its five-day conference. Attendees received world-class continuing education through interactive symposia, hands-on labs, lectures, and exhibitor booths. The education at VMX allows attendees to provide a higher quality of animal care and provides necessary continuing education credits to allow veterinary professionals to meet state-mandated education and licensing requirements. NAVC also provides students and others with financial need discounted/free admissions to attend its conference and other training activities to provide greater educational opportunities to those individuals who might otherwise be unable to attend. In connection with the NAVC Conference, the Organization received approximately $279,000 of free use of medical equipment. In 2022, NAVC also offered an online product, VMX Virtual. This allowed attendees to experience VMX virtually that otherwise wouldn't be able to attend, and also gave exhibitors the opportunity to showcase their booths virtually to this audience. VMX Virtual offers both live interactive sessions as well as OnDemand content that is consumed when it is convenient for the learner.
In 2021, NAVC created a new segment of business- Virtual XP. This brand encompasses our new fully acquired online learning platform- VetFolio. This segment focuses on providing visual and interactive virtual learning programs to the veterinary community. Virtual XP houses year-round educational resources for veterinary professionals to get industry news and educational insight through video content to enhance medical care. The programming focuses on industry-wide trends and concerns as well as what it is like to be a veterinary professional. Products offered include: Vet2Vet (which is a video learning series that provides industry insights through conversations with Veterinarians); live webinars and Level Up summits; certificate programs (non-renewing educational programs); and Spark! (NAVC's in-house production team that manages all audio and visual production for VirtualXP products as well as the entire organization).VetFolio is the online learning platform for NAVC in addition to virtual event hosting that provides educational resources to over 100,000 learners. VetFolio is an online learning resource that includes 100's of hours of onDemand learning content as well as articles, podcasts and different types of CE courses. VetFolio also hosts most virtual learning events provided under the Virtual XP business unit. VetFolio was a previous joint venture that is now wholly owned by NAVC. VetFolio houses legacy products, which include a variety of: podcasts; On Demand courses (long form, short form, microlearning); journal articles; resource centers; and eCommerce for Partners (Online Courses,etc.).

NAVC has expanded its learning opportunities through NAVC Certifications, an in-depth educational initiative that focuses on providing the veterinary healthcare team with certifications on specific aspects of the veterinary profession. By offering highly-engaging and market-relevant certification programs, NAVC Certifications is geared toward veterinary professionals and the veterinary community as a whole. The first program lauched was the Human-Animal Bond (HABc) for both individuals and hospital certification with a focus on the evidence-based benefits of the human animal bond to both the pet owner and the animal. The Certified Veterinary Business Leader (CVBL) and Pet Nutrition Coach Certification (PNCC) launched in 2019.All NAVC Certifications programs have extensive education and independently developed testing requirements to ensure that the learner has demonstrated that she/he has acquired the requisite amount of knowledge to be awarded a particular certification. For each program there are recertification requirements that mandate relevant continuing education in order to maintain the credential.
In addition to the VMX event mentioned above, NAVC provides additional educational and training opportunities to develop the knowledge and skill of individuals in the veterinary healthcare community through the NAVC Institute and other similar events. The NAVC Institute is an annual multi-day educational program offered to veterinary professionals. Traditionally, the NAVC Institute has over 250 registrants for its eight veterinary continuing education courses over a span of five days. These courses elevated the attendees' knowledge and skill in a particular field of study through the use of classroom lectures, hands-on labs, and group discussions with course leaders. The education at the Institute allows attendees to provide a higher quality of animal care and provides necessary continuing education credits to allow veterinary professionals to meet state-mandated education and licensing requirements.
