Program areas at Nashville Humane Society

Pet adoptions: nha provided shelter, medical care, and vaccines for 3,414 animals in 2023. Teddy's wagon no longer exists as the equipment was donated to a peer shelter and we raised funds to purchase a new adoptions vehicle. Waggin' wheels replaced that vehicle officially in november 2023.pet food bank: in 2023 Nashville Humane Association distributed 31,720 pounds of food to animals in need. This service was provided to 1,700 pet-owning households and 3,796 pets. The need for resources has increased with our focus on keeping animals in homes with their owners. We are spending more resources in the community than ever before in an effort to keep pets out of the shelter and with their human owners.
Spay and neuter programs: in 2023, 3,057 animals were sterilized whether to place up for adoption or for our rover program to assist peer shelters who lack a veterinarian.
